Wieger Kastelein is a Financial Stability Expert at the European Central Bank. He joined the ECB in 2019. Prior to this, he worked as a Policy Advisor at De Nederlandsche Bank and was a member of a number of policy fora, including the European Forum for Innovation Facilitators and the European Banking Authority’s Subgroup on Governance and Remuneration. Wieger studied business administration and holds a master’s degree from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Het toezichthouderschap is een prachtig vak met vele dimensies. Goed toezicht is voor mij continue waarde leveren voor het bestuur, de organisatie en de maatschappij. Juist gezien de uitdagingen die er op dit moment in de wereld zijn ben ik overtuigd van de urgentie van dit werk.
